Dean Bradshaw
Dean Bradshaw received his music training at the University of Toronto, where his teachers included Jane Coop (piano) and Oscar Morawetz (composition). After graduation, he joined the music staff of the National Ballet of Canada. In Halifax, he teaches piano and theory at the Maritime Conservatory, and is currently an accompanist and keyboard harmony instructor at Dalhousie University. Mr. Bradshaw is familiar to many in Dartmouth, being the organist and choir director at St. James United, where he is currently the music director. Dean has been accompanist for Bedford Singers on numerous occasions.
2002 saw the performance of his “Music” for choir, piano, and organ, commissioned for the Bedford Singers’ twentieth anniversary. More recently, at St. John’s United Church in Halifax, he performed a solo recital of piano music of sacred inspiration, including his 2006 “Variations on a Hymn Tune.”
