Bedford Singers is a four-voiced community choir drawing members throughout Halifax Regional Municipality since 1982. Like HRM itself, the group has grown and built a respected reputation supported by their appreciative audiences. The choir rehearses weekly to present a varied repertoire of classical, contemporary and folk pieces, typically over three concerts per season. These are traditionally performed at Christmas, mid-winter, and a spring season finale. They also regularly share their stage with other musical guests, which have included Seton Cantata Choir, Kings Chorale, Cantabile Singers of Truro and pianist Dean Bradshaw. In January of 2010 Bedford Singers were invited to perform Karl Jenkins’s The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace at New York’s Lincoln Centre for the Martin Luther King Jr Day memorial performance. Bedford Singers are committed to providing a quality choral experience for both singer and audience member. Bedford Singers is conducted by Wayne Rogers.
